Steel Ball Run

Steel Ball Run manga is the seventh part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. Originally serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2004, it later moved to Ultra Jump until its conclusion in 2011.

Set in September 1890, Steel Ball Run follows Johnny Joestar, a paraplegic former racing jockey who enters the cross-country race from San Diego to New York City to learn about the mysterious Spin ability of Gyro Zeppeli. Though they begin as rivals, they become friends while fending off assassins and violent competitors. The race is secretly engineered by President Funny Valentine as a front for collecting the scattered pieces of a 1900-year-old corpse known as the Holy Corpse. After encountering another Corpse piece, it is absorbed into Johnny's body, developing the evolving Stand Tusk. Valentine's dimension-traversing Stand, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (D4C), allows him to seize the Corpse parts and gain the powerful Love Train ability. As the race reaches its final stages, Johnny and Gyro must face Valentine in an epic showdown that will test their bonds and determine the fate of the Holy Corpse.
