Sentenced to Be a Hero (Yūsha-kei ni Shosu) is a Japanese dark fantasy light novel series written by Rocket Shōkai and illustrated by Mephisto. The manga adaptation by Natsumi Inoue began serialization in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Comic Regulus in March 2022.

The Sentenced to Be a Hero manga follows Xylo Forbartz, a former Holy Knight commander convicted of killing a goddess and sentenced to serve as a "Hero" - criminals made immortal and forced into endless combat against demonic forces. As leader of Penal Hero Unit 9004, Xylo is repeatedly killed and resurrected on the front lines. When he discovers his conviction was a setup, he forms a pact with Teoritta, the 13th Goddess of Swords, to break the cycle of death and seek revenge against those who framed him.
